"My son is a goalie. When he was 13 he went for his first lesson with Cindy near the end of his season. She asked him to skate without his pads and do some crossovers. He had never done them before. He's always been a goalie. You don't do many crossovers in the crease. As soon as he tried them he looked like a newborn giraffe using his legs for the first time. We laughed. But the next day he was better. By the end of the week the improvement was incredible.

When his season started last fall, after a second session with Cindy in the summer, his new coach asked him if he used to be a player because his edge work was better, even in pads, than most of his teammates.

Now he's a Grade 9 student playing for his high school team and in AAA tournaments. Thanks to Cindy, his skating helps him stand out. Here's her secret: She really knows her stuff and she's great with the kids. My son's goalie coach says the best thing we ever did was bring him to see Cindy. I think he's right."

"Skating with Cindy is by far one of the best decisions I have ever made as a hockey player. I started skating with her when I was in grade 11. I look forward to every ice session we have. Within the first two sessions with Cindy, I started to see a huge improvement in my skating. She helps you understand exactly what should be changed about every single part of each different stride, breaking it down in the way that makes the most sense for every individual player. She encourages me to work as hard as I can every ice session to get the most out of it as possible. That being said she makes the time you spend with her working on the ice extremely fun.

Cindy has been not only an unbelievable coach but an amazing friend as well. She genuinely cares about every single skater she skates with. I am going into my third year of junior and I can always expect to get a text from Cindy asking how the season is going or even just to check up on how I am feeling. On the ice i can be sure to share many laughs with her as she makes my time with her so enjoyable. There isnt another person that I have met in hockey who I look up to the way I look up to Cindy. She has taught me so much about hockey and life in general. I have learned not only how to become a better skater but how to be the all round best person I can be at the rink and away from it as well! Thank you Cindy.

"Good morning Peggy,
My son Matthew (age 6) was a part of your Town of Oakville skate last night (Level 1) and I wanted to send a note to let you know how impressed I was watching the lesson. I had heard several very positive things about your instruction in the past and it was very evident to me how impactful these lessons will be for Matthew. From his perspective, he thought it was a lot of fun and that you were the best skater that hes ever been on the ice with! Considering he has done other skating programs in the past, it was clear to me that his edge work will greatly improve based on your tutelage. I assume that your schedule is slammed these days but I would be interested in some one-on-one or two-on-one instruction if that is something that we could coordinate.

Thanks again."

"Hi Peggy,
I've been watching Matthew at training camp. His quickness and edge work are much improved and his skating is more efficient. His coach has noticed the difference. Thank you so much for your work with him over the spring and summer. It was most appreciated.

Would it be okay with you if I reach out to you in March or April to set up some more spring/summer sessions next year? Hope you enjoy your fall/winter.

Kind regards,"

"Hi Peggy,
... I wanted to write to thank you all for the march break camp last week.
Cameron absolutely LOVED camp. He enjoyed everything from the instructors to the other students...his only wish was that it was longer. :-)
He had a game on Sunday night and we noticed a huge change in him not only with his skating but with his confidence on the ice so I wanted to reach out to say THANK YOU.
If we are able to work out a summer session we will see you again soon.
... Thank you again, "

"Hi. My name is Jack. I am 10 1/2 years old. I have been skating with Cindy Bower for a year now and she is the best skating coach I have ever had. I love it when people say 'Wow, he is a great skater. Where did he learn how to skate like that?' I don't really want to tell them because I want Cindy all to myself. Cindy is a great coach and my great friend. I have a big smile whenever I know I am going to see her. I hope I can skate with her forever."

"I forgot to mention this morning that Jack was signed this week for AAA Halton Hurricanes Minor Atom team for next season, after five tryout sessions. Once again there is not the slightest doubt in our minds that you have had a large role in his success in achieving his goals to play AAA hockey. We hope to be with you for a long time to come.

Once again, thank you very much, and we'll see you next week.

"Hi Peggy, Just wanted to send you another little thank you. Dean finished his season playing amazingly well, and his backwards skating turned heads with the huge improvement. In fact, he was called up to play for a higher division in the finals.

Your teaching was fantastic, and you can count on us being back in the summer before next season starts. If you can ever use a testimonial, feel free to let us know.

Thanks again!"

"Hi ladies. I just came back from one of former student Trevor Adams (Class of 2011(12yr. old) game. He went into this season with confidence in his own ability for all hockey skills. Trev has gotten at least one goal per game but no hat trick as of yet. I would like to thank you for your most able and professional instructing. His confidence in himself now will stay for the rest of his life.

Warm Regards and good health,"

Dear Peggy and Cindy

I just wanted to let both of you know how much I've appreciated the time you have spent with my three boys. This summer marks our seventh year of coming to Toronto for your clinic and privates and, without a doubt, all three boys skate better when they leave and come back to New Jersey. The techniques you use to teach and improve their skating far surpass any other instruction they've received. Besides the expert skating instruction and professional approach, my boys have come to know and think of both of you as part of our hockey family and they wish they could do your clinics in the winter.

Sincerely,

Richard Lederman
